To provide, on the customer airline websites, an integrated booking, payment, registration, ticket exchange and return solution. The engine should be cross-browser, deliver high functionality for the Russian market (for example the change of ticket date and time, even for purchased tickets) whilst minimizing the ticket purchasing steps using the maximum number of payment methods and loyalty cards.
The engine must have the following capabilities: Booking; Online check-in; Flight schedule according to the city of arrival and destination; Personal accounts; Flight search should by price & destination (though lists and route maps); Pivot table selection options; and of course operate under heavy customer traffic. Customers should be able to customize the engine, such as interface, text, content and function, according to their requirements.
VitaSoft, in conjunction with Sirena-Travel, created the b2b system architecture complying with all requirements.
With the support of agile development methodology, the system engine was designed over several iterations and applied to a wide range of airlines. It is now used by more than 5,000 people per day to book and purchase tickets.
The VitaSoft created online flight booking engine has a modern user friendly interface with a wide scope for customization thereby enabling airlines to alter their own interface and functionality without having to resort to the Contractor. The customer search, booking and purchasing process has both been simplified, in that the number of steps to complete a process has been reduced, whilst at the same time enhanced with additional options, such as the ability to search by date and destination. Results analysis has shown that the use of the engine significantly improved airline Internet business performance whilst reducing costs.
